Morningstar Recognizes Hartford Funds’ Stewardship, Investor-Centric Approach with Positive Parent Rating

January 14, 2019
Wayne, PA

Hartford Funds announced today that Morningstar upgraded the firm’s Parent Pillar rating from “Neutral” to “Positive” on December 21, 2018.1

This rating is part of Morningstar’s evaluation of managed products based on the five key pillars (Process, Performance, People, Parent, and Price) they believe are crucial to forecasting a firm’s future success. The evaluation includes several factors, including talent retention, organizational structure, capacity management, alignment of interests with fund investors, and regulatory practices.

“Hartford Funds is proud of the strategic relationships, business decisions, and product refinements we’ve made, and we remain committed to putting investors first. It is extremely gratifying that Morningstar recognizes the value of our efforts,” said Jim Davey, President of Hartford Funds.

Hartford Funds primarily credits the positive rating to strong investment management, improved fee structures, and product lineup refinements. More information on Morningstar’s Parent Pillar rating can be found here.
