A Multisector Strategy for Uncertain Credit Markets

May 2020
By Campe Goodman, CFA and Anand Dhuran

We believe a multisector credit strategy strikes the right balance between seeking yield, total return, and diversification.

Insight from our sub-adviser, Wellington Management
Campe Goodman, CFA
Senior Managing Director, Co- Portfolio Manager of Hartford Strategic Income Fund
Anand Dharan
Fixed-Income Investment Director

In the wake of recent and ongoing turmoil in credit markets, we believe now is a good time for fixed-income investors to consider multisector credit strategies that are designed to pursue total return and income by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities in higher-yielding credit markets.

Important Risks: Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal.  Fixed income security risks include credit, liquidity, call, duration, event and interest-rate risk. As interest rates rise, bond prices generally fall. • Diversification does not ensure a profit or protect against a loss.
