Background

Blake Huynh, CPA is a portfolio manager on the Leveraged Credit Platform and is the lead portfolio manager of our total return high yield approach. He is also a co-chair of Wellington’s Leveraged Credit Strategy Group. He is also responsible for providing research coverage of high-yield bonds and bank loans within the US financials sector. He began his career at Wellington Management in 2014 as a research analyst on the Leveraged Credit Team covering the US financials, home construction, and building materials sectors.

Before joining Wellington Management in 2014, Blake worked in the High Yield Group at Aviva Investors in Chicago. Prior to that, he was a senior analyst at Chicago Fundamental Investment Partners, a long/short credit opportunities fund (2008 – 2013) and also worked on the distressed debt/special situations proprietary desk at Bear Stearns & Co (2005 – 2008). He has experience in investment banking and private equity, and he began his career at Arthur Andersen (1997 – 2000).

Blake earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (2005) and his BS in accounting, graduating with distinction, from Purdue University (1997). He is a Certified Public Accountant.

On June 3, 2026, The Hartford Insurance Group, Inc. (“The Hartford”) and Wellington announced that they had reached a definitive agreement under which Wellington Investment Advisors Holdings, LLP, Wellington’s corporate parent, will acquire Hartford Funds. Upon closing Hartford Funds will be integrated into Wellington’s U.S. Wealth business. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory and fund approvals.
