Background

Matthew D. Hudson, is an Equity Portfolio Manager for the Hartford International Growth Fund. Matt is a portfolio manager on the Large Cap Growth Team. He is responsible for managing Global Growth portfolios for institutional and subadvisory clients worldwide. He conducts research and draws upon the resources of Wellington Management’s regional and global industry analysts to find the best opportunities around the world.

Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Matt was at American Century Investment Management where he was a portfolio manager and analyst, including lead portfolio manager on their Global Growth discipline (2000 – 2005). In addition, he was an international equity analyst with Pioneer Management (1996 – 2000) and a financial analyst with Liberty Mutual Insurance (1991 –1996).

Matt received his MBA from Boston University (1996) and his BA in finance and Investments from Babson College (1991). He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

On June 3, 2026, The Hartford Insurance Group, Inc. (“The Hartford”) and Wellington announced that they had reached a definitive agreement under which Wellington Investment Advisors Holdings, LLP, Wellington’s corporate parent, will acquire Hartford Funds. Upon closing Hartford Funds will be integrated into Wellington’s U.S. Wealth business. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory and fund approvals.
