Background

Nick Samouilhan, PhD, CFA, FRM, is the Co-Head of Wellington’s Multi-Asset Platform, which is part of iStrat, the firm's Investment Solutions and Strategy Group. As Co-Head, he helps to lead the multi-asset team in seeking to solve their client's investment challenges through custom multi-asset solutions, advisory engagements and product design.

Nick joined Wellington in 2019, initially as Head of Multi-Asset Strategy for APAC. Prior to Wellington Management he worked as a strategist and multi-asset portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price, Aviva Investors and Ninety-One Asset Management. He earned his PhD in economics from the University of Cape Town, is both a CFA and an FRM charterholder and has published academic papers on volatility modelling, macroeconomic forecasting and portfolio diversification, amongst others.

Wellington’s iStrat group is focused on delivering client-centered investment solutions, research and advice ranging from whole portfolio solutions to bespoke single asset class and advisory partnerships. Wellington's solutions platform incorporates expertise across multi-asset, fundamental factor investing and thematic approaches to deliver across a range of client outcomes and objectives and is designed to meet diverse investor needs by aligning tailored investment strategies with specific requirements.

On June 3, 2026, The Hartford Insurance Group, Inc. (“The Hartford”) and Wellington announced that they had reached a definitive agreement under which Wellington Investment Advisors Holdings, LLP, Wellington’s corporate parent, will acquire Hartford Funds. Upon closing Hartford Funds will be integrated into Wellington’s U.S. Wealth business. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory and fund approvals.
