Background

Tarit Rao-Chakravorti is an equity research analyst on the International Contrarian Value Team. Tarit conducts fundamental analysis on contrarian equity investments across sectors. His research supports the investment decision making for a range of portfolios managed for clients of the firm. He works in our Boston office.

Prior to rejoining Wellington Management in 2018, Tarit completed an MBA internship at the firm with the International Contrarian Value Team. Before that, he was an analyst at Monitor 360 (2015 - 2016), where he advised a range of clients, including the US national security community. He first joined Wellington Management (2012 - 2015) in Equity Product Management, where he covered contrarian, natural resources, and quantitative equity portfolios.

Tarit earned his MBA with certificates in finance and sustainability from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan, 2018), where he was named a Goss Fellow, and his BA with honors in economics and peace and conflict studies from Swarthmore College (2012).

On June 3, 2026, The Hartford Insurance Group, Inc. (“The Hartford”) and Wellington announced that they had reached a definitive agreement under which Wellington Investment Advisors Holdings, LLP, Wellington’s corporate parent, will acquire Hartford Funds. Upon closing Hartford Funds will be integrated into Wellington’s U.S. Wealth business. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory and fund approvals.
